After some trouble with Hertz rental car, which I am never going to book any more, we made our way to the Comrades 2014 Expo.

Before we even got there, we met Olesya & Elena Nurgalieva, the Russian twins, dominating Ultra running for more than a decade. Together they won a staggering
12x Comrades from 2003-2013 and
7x Two Oceans from 2004-2012.

At the Expo the queue was unbelieveable. I trust you had to wait for at least one hour, or more.

Lucky me, there was a special registration for charity runners. No queues 🙂

After that we had a look at all the vendors. This year New Balance replaced Reebook for the First time as technical sponsor and supplier of the official Comrades gear.
I must admit, the shirts they sold did not look nice at all. Good for my wallet.

What I wanted to get were their official specially designed shoes. Sold out.
But at one booth I got lucky and got the last pair in my size 🙂

Pink Drive, the charity I collected some 22000 Rand, gave me a lovely race pack.

After visiting the Expo we spent 1.5 hours waiting for the police – because a young guy bumped into our car at a red traffic light. No severe damage, but nothing you really need. We managed to get our case number for the car rental company and made our way to the mall we wanted to go to.

We finished with a nice pasta dinner 🙂
