This morning I felt a bit better. But I was not at 100% with my health.
Therefore I canceled the 40 km run for today. I postponed the decision if I would run at all today until later. In the afternoon the sun was so tempting, and I felt ok, that I went for a very easy short run.
In the end I completed a 1 h run and felt good afterwards.
I know, a few years ago, I would not be so relaxed. I would have thought about the km which I would be missing. But not now. After so many years I know, that a short break is not an issue at all. I clocked many quality km in the past months and missing one 40km run is not that bad. I completed several already.
Not taking a break when ill can cause massive problems, from a prolonged recovery period to serious health issues. I learned my lessons, luckily without long term issues.
Next week will again only consist of maybe 2 short morning runs during the week due to many business assignments. I hope to be fit again next weekend for a 40 km run.
