From now on long runs are supposed to be in the 40 km range. Says my plan. Today I am following this advice.
And it was tough, not only because of the distance: The night didn’t offer much sleep due to the heat. We had 33°C yesterday and it did not really cool off during the night. Only in the wee hours of the morning it went down to 20°C.
In the morning the fog came around and the humidity was terrible. Anyway – if you do an outdoor sports, you have to cope with it.
I went for my 40 km run including some hills. To finish it off nicely, I ran uphill for the last 3 km until I got home. This is tough, but it’s perfect to prepare for Two Oceans, where the tough uphill sections starts just past the marathon mark.
As started last week, I did the testo-training again after the run. 3 x 30 m sprint.
Funny enough: I like the testo-training more and more. I was really tired after the 40 km. Sprinting for just 30 m seems to relax the muscles somehow.
Or maybe the testosterone kicked in immediately and made me feel strong.
Roooooaaaaarrrrr 😉
